New Kyoto-Awaji Bus Route Boosts Tourism, Economic Opportunities for Shinobi-Zato

Date:

Starting July 1, 2026, anime enthusiasts journeying from Kyoto to the beloved “NARUTO&BORUTO Shinobi-Zato” attraction on Awaji Island will have a new hassle-free travel option. A direct bus ticket package will soon be available, merging a round-trip highway bus from Kyoto Station to Awaji I.C. with entry to the anime-themed park. This initiative is aimed at offering a seamless day-trip experience for both local and international visitors, eliminating the need for any transit changes.

The approximately 90-minute ride from Kyoto to Awaji Island promises a scenic adventure, with the highway bus crossing bridges and providing stunning ocean vistas before reaching the anime park. The package includes access to two primary attractions: the “Heaven’s Scroll (Ten no Maki)” three-dimensional maze and the “Earth Scroll (Chi no Maki)” mission rally. This convenient travel package is slated for weekday availability, excluding major holidays, and is priced at 8,200 yen for adults and 4,250 yen for children, with taxes included. Tickets can be purchased online, with a necessary exchange at the Kyoto Bus Ticket Center post-purchase.

“NARUTO&BORUTO Shinobi-Zato” brings to life the world of the acclaimed ninja anime series, allowing fans to immerse themselves in settings inspired by the Hidden Leaf Village, and enjoy character displays, training activities, and interactive engagements. Situated within Nijigen no Mori, the park marries the essence of Japanese anime culture with engaging outdoor entertainment.

Nijigen no Mori itself is nestled on Awaji Island and hosts a variety of attractions based on popular Japanese entertainment franchises. The park offers visitors dynamic, interactive experiences set against the backdrop of the island’s natural beauty. The introduction of the direct bus service from Kyoto is anticipated to enhance accessibility for anime fans and tourists alike, offering a distinctive summer travel option in Japan.
