China Calls for Global Action to Block Revival of Japanese Militarism

Date:

China has urged the international community to jointly oppose any move toward the revival of Japanese militarism, warning that recent actions by Japan raise serious regional and global concerns.

Speaking at a press briefing on Thursday, a spokesperson for China’s Ministry of National Defense criticized Japan’s recent military policies and public statements by its officials. He noted that many countries, including those in Southeast Asia, have repeatedly voiced concern over Japan’s growing military ambitions.

According to the spokesperson, Japan has failed to fully reflect on its historical aggression and instead has accelerated military expansion under various pretexts. He added that moves such as exporting advanced weapons and discussions around acquiring nuclear capabilities run counter to widespread international opposition.

These developments, he said, reveal the intent of right-wing forces in Japan to push for remilitarization. China called on peace-loving nations to remain vigilant, uphold the post-war international order, and work collectively to safeguard regional and global peace and stability.
